We have some advice for you from from our nutritional & weight loss coach @vickysim.fit. One thing that I always try to advise people when it comes to diet is to eat wholegrain, whole wheat, or wholemeal foods. Remove white foods from your diet such as white sugar, white bread, white pasta, white rice, and replace it with wholegrain, wholemeal, or whole wheat. Most food that is white (except veggies and legumes such as white beans, onions, cauliflower, etc which fall into an entirely different category), have been processed and refined which means they are no longer in their natural state, nasties are added such as sodium, sugar, etc, and they are often stripped of beneficial nutrients. Carbohydrates are a necessity, these white foods however serve minimal nutritional benefit. Replacing these foods with whole grain food has numerous health benefits today and long term. Whole food means that it is still complete and has not been broken down. Wholegrain foods are low GI which release energy slowly and take longer to digest therefore you feel fuller for longer and have more stable energy. It regulates your blood sugar levels which means you don’t have spikes of highs and lows that you can get when eating whites.
Studies have also proven that women and men who eat white are more likely to gain weight than those who consume wholemeal or wholegrain foods.
So here’s an idea, if you are interested in maintaining better health, clean out your pantries of whites and start buying wholegrain, wholemeal, whole wheat food.
Start changing your mind set. Think wholegrain! It all adds up to a healthier, fitter you, and what you put inside your body shines on the outside!
